Although I know my Mother has been gone for over seven years, I still find myself reaching for the phone to call her every so often.  Yesterday was one of those days.  I can't even remember what I was doing yesterday morning, but I remember  the pain of loss when I realized that she wasn't just a phone call away.

Several hours had passed and I don't recall when I started humming while doing the laundry, but part way through the melody, it hit me.  I was humming my Mother's very favorite hymn.  I know this was her way to let me know she was there watching over me.
